Men’s Health Issues
When it comes to their health men fall into two categories: the hypochondriacs who waste their doctor’s time with every cough or sneeze and the ignore-it-and-it-might-go-away brigade.Unfortunately the latter group is by far the larger. Most men are reluctant to consult a doctor unless they have been hit by a truck. Yet that truck may not be as deadly as the difficulty you are having urinating.
Until very recently men’s health issues have been largely ignored by the media, whilst women’s problems are covered constantly in every magazine and newspaper. This has made things even more difficult for men who have difficulty discussing highly personal issues. But make no mistake, a little embarassment in front of your doctor can save your life. The human body is a highly delicate mechanism, things do go wrong and ignoring them doesn’t make them go away. Of course not all ailments are fatal, the difficulty you are having acheiving an erection isn’t going to kill you, but what is it going to do for your quality of life?
This web site aims to bring together a series of the top articles on men’s health in the hope that reading about your problem may persuade you to consult your doctor. These articles have been written by people with experience of your health problem or professionals or researchers. They cover topics as diverse as impotence and testicular cancer. They do not aim to replace medical consultation but to arm you with some information before you take that next step.
We hope that the information here may also help you to monitor your health and be aware of problems even before they begin. Women regularly examine their breasts, why don’t you do the same for your testicles? Just because you haven’t found that lump doesn’t mean that it isn’t there.
Hopefully these articles will make you more aware, maybe give you the push you need to visit your doctor and, who knows, maybe even save some lives. |
